Proud to be a family busines
Daily Fare was born from Robin’s love of sharing her culinary creations—and her belief that food should comfort, connect, and always be made from scratch.
Founder and chef Robin Grubard discovered her passion for cooking early in life, long before realizing it could be a career. Growing up, she knew there had to be something better than TV dinners and fast food. That belief led her to culinary school in her twenties, where she not only excelled but eventually returned to teach.
She went on to work in restaurants, hotels and as a personal chef for high-profile clients including Barry Levinson and Harry Connick Jr.—gaining experience, perspective, and a seriously delicious skill set.
After starting a family, Robin knew she wanted a space where she could share her food and hospitality with the town she calls home: Bethel, CT. Sixteen years ago, she opened Daily Fare—a warm, welcoming spot at the Bethel train station where everything is made in-house, from scratch, every single day. (Yes, even the croissants.)
What began as a solo venture has grown into a true family business—every member of Robin’s immediate family has helped out over the years (except her mom, who always preferred ordering in to cooking!).
Today, Daily Fare is a gathering place for regulars and a cheerful stop for newcomers, offering home-cooked treats made to brighten your day.
We’re known for comfort staples like hearty granola bars, scones, keto bagels, fruit and nut bars, dessert bars, savory pasties (savory hand pies), cookies, soups, and an always-evolving brunch lineup.
Everything is handmade in our kitchen, with care, joy, and ingredients we believe in. With Robin’s culinary training, custom orders are always on the menu. Have a favorite treat? Just ask—we’re happy to make it for you.
